Surface Finishing Chemistries

Cleaners

Alkaline cleaners are used to remove organic soils such as dirt, oils and grease. Applied by recirculating spray, immersion and spray wand units.

ALL-CLENE™ 2310 is a powdered, heavy-duty immersion cleaner designed for metal finishing operations on steel and stainless steel. It also serves as a robust detergent for various cleaning tasks involving grease, oil, and resistant soils.

ALL-CLENE™ 2511 is a powdered immersion cleaner formulated for aluminum alloys and mixed metals. This non-silicate, non-etching, moderately alkaline detergent excels at removing tough grease and oil residues in moderate to low temperature soak applications for aluminum and other surfaces.

ALL-CLENE™ 1160 combines potent alkaline builders, chelates, dispersants, and low-foaming detergents to achieve optimal soil penetration and dispersion. It is suitable for use in single or multi-stage spray washers, ultrasonic cleaning units, C.I.P. cleaning applications, and traditional hot tank cleaning.

ALL-CLENE™ 1165, a low-temperature, low-foam metal cleaner, is ideal for heavy-duty cleaning of ferrous metals before iron or zinc phosphate application. It effectively removes lubricants, previous phosphate coatings, light rust, oxides, and smut, while providing flash rust protection for steel during processing.

ALL-CLENE™ 1180, an alkaline liquid detergent, is engineered to tackle the most challenging soils encountered in manufacturing processes. It includes detergents and wetting agents that penetrate and lift oils, chlorinated paraffins, and varnished drawing compounds from substrates, preventing redeposition on the surface.

ALL-CLENE™ 1181 is an alkaline liquid detergent composed of alkaline builders, dispersants, water conditioners, and detergents, optimized for maximum soil penetration and dispersion. ALL-CLENE™ 1181 is appropriate for use on a variety of ferrous metals, including cast iron and nickel, as well as titanium, copper, and other metals resistant to strong alkalis.

ALL-CLENE™ S100L is a robust, liquid immersion cleaner tailored for metal finishing tasks involving steel and stainless steel. It effectively removes light rust, oxides, phosphate coatings, and lubricants used in drawing, stamping, and forming processes.

ALL-CLENE™ 3216, a gentle alkaline, liquid cleaner concentrate, is formulated for cleaning ferrous, galvanized, or aluminum metals. Its low-residue design is essential for applications where residue from the cleaner could pose problems during the drying process.

Acid cleaners are used prior to applying conversion coatings on a metal surface and are designed to remove inorganic soils such as weld and laser scale, and other oxides such as rust.

ALL-CLENE™ 2860 is a mildly acidic, liquid cleaner concentrate designed to thoroughly clean ferrous, aluminum, and zinc surfaces in a power spray washer. It operates effectively at moderate temperatures, providing a clean surface ready for painting or surface conversion treatment.

ALL-CLENE™ 2120 is a non-chromated, phosphate-free, liquid acidic cleaner that removes oxide, smut, mill scale, and discoloration from aluminum and its alloys. Ideal for use before spot welding, anodizing, barrel burnishing, conversion coating, or after alkaline etching or welding, it works well in hard water, requires no heating, and rinses off completely. It contains a synergized blend of synthetic detergents, wetting agents, builders, and sequestrants for superior cleaning and emulsification of stubborn soils.

ALL-CLENE™ 2143 is a phosphate-free acid cleaner that removes carbon and particulates. Suitable for dip tank applications or recirculating systems with a defoamer, it effectively penetrates and removes challenging soils such as oxide films, fly ash, and oils. Safe for all metals, it brightens the substrate surface in direct contact with the solution.

ALL-CLENE™ 2145 is an aluminum deoxidizer/cleaner in liquid concentrate form, crafted to strip the natural oxide coating from aluminum surfaces. Its formula includes a mix of detergents and organic solvents to penetrate and lift oils, coolants, and various soils. Additionally, it contains a special acid blend that removes the oxide layer while passivating the surface.

ALL-CLENE™ 1882 is an aluminum deoxidizer/etchant, an acidic liquid concentrate, free of phosphates, designed to eliminate oxides and scale from aluminum prior to processes like anodizing, conversion coating, and painting, where an active, oxide-free surface is essential.

Conversion Coatings

Iron Phosphate is a non-crystalline, nonmetallic, coating that is chemically adherent to the metal substrate to provide increased paint adhesion and increased corrosion protection.

Spray Wand Process

ALL-COAT™ SW73 is a concentrated, high-quality organic iron phosphate detergent designed for manual spray wands. It produces exceptionally uniform and dense coatings with significant coating weights. It offers excellent corrosion resistance and in-process flash rust protection, specifically formulated for ferrous substrates.

ALL-COAT™ SW73F, similar to SW73, is a concentrated, high-quality organic iron phosphate detergent for manual spray wands. It also creates uniform, dense coatings with substantial coating weights and provides excellent corrosion resistance and in-process flash rust protection. However, it is formulated for both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates.

ALL-COAT™ SW MM is a highly concentrated liquid iron phosphate compound intended for cleaning and coating steel, zinc, and aluminum surfaces. Ideal for steam gun applications, this acidic liquid contains activators that enhance cleaning and enable rapid coating on metal surfaces, ensuring dependable results at lower costs.

ALL-COAT™ SW610 is an organic zirconium product designed for high paint adhesion and corrosion resistance on both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates. It has superior detergency and is buffered for direct manual application from the container, providing flash rust protection during the application process.

Spray Washer or Immersion

ALL-COAT™ 6802 serves as a cleaner/coater containing wetting agents and accelerators, specifically formulated to phosphatize ferrous surfaces via spray or immersion. It excels in environments where controlling the proper pH is difficult due to high alkaline drag-out, alkaline-rich water, or soil presence. The product establishes a consistent, dense phosphate layer, ensuring a superior foundation for subsequent painting.

ALL-COAT™ 2073-LT is a low-temperature cleaner and coater designed for iron phosphate conversion coating on a variety of metals, including steel, cast iron, aluminum, and zinc-galvanized surfaces. This molybdenum-free formula provides exceptional cleaning and bonding capabilities, improved corrosion resistance for both powder and wet coatings, and features an advanced surfactant system optimized for low-temperature applications. It is capable of achieving coating weights of up to 80 mg/ft².

ALL-COAT™ 2849 serves as a cleaner and coater for iron phosphate conversion coatings. It employs non-molybdate accelerators to treat both ferrous and non-ferrous surfaces in recirculating washers and immersion applications. This product results in a dense, grayish phosphate coating that averages 10-25 mg/ft² more than traditional molybdate-containing products.

ALL-COAT™ 3535 is an acidic liquid compound used for phosphating iron and steel surfaces. It produces dense coating weights without dusting, ensuring excellent paint adhesion and corrosion resistance. Highly resistant to flash rusting, it prevents excessive coatings and rusting during line stoppages or long runs to the dry-off oven.

Zinc phosphate coatings offer high performance corrosion protection beyond iron phosphate and are compatible with all paint systems.

ALL-COAT™ MP-3X is a microcrystalline, manganese-modified zinc phosphate compound utilized for paint bonding and corrosion inhibition on steel and mixed metals including aluminum and zinc. It is an advanced technology product designed for high-quality mixed metal operations. It complies with Federal Spec TTC-490E Type I and TOYOTA # HTH-7500 for fine coatings, offering coating weights between 150 to 500 mg/ft2.

ALL-COAT™ MP-100MM is a microcrystalline zinc phosphate designed for the treatment of steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, and zinc alloy coated steel. The process transforms the metal surface into a nonmetallic, fine-crystal zinc phosphate coating, with coating weights ranging from 150 to 500 mg/ft2, or 500-700 mg/ft2 without toner in an immersion process.

ALL-COAT™ RB-060 is a calcium-modified microcrystalline zinc phosphate process tailored for fastener coating. It enhances torque and tension performance due to its unique coating weight and crystal morphology. As an immersion product, it yields coatings from 500 to 900 mg/ft2 on steel, which are then treated with oil, wax, or other lubricants, producing crystals smaller than 12 microns.

ALL-COAT™ HC-3000 is a robust zinc phosphate treatment solution designed to generate nonmetallic, zinc phosphate coatings on iron and steel surfaces, highly resistant to corrosion. These coatings adhere well, are absorptive, and significantly protect against rust by securing the final finish—whether stain, oil, wax, or paint—with coating weights from 2500 to 3500 mg/ft2.

Enhanced Thin Film Pretreatment. These next-generation phosphate-free conversion coatings provide an environmentally responsible alternative to traditional phosphate coatings on a metal surface.

ALL-COAT™ 2857, this zirconium-based concentrate is an innovative acidic liquid that cleans and coats both ferrous and aluminum substrates. It effectively transforms these surfaces, significantly enhancing their corrosion resistance. The protective coating provided by ALL-COAT™ 2857 surpasses the performance of traditional iron phosphate treatments, offering not only improved corrosion resistance but also superior adhesion for subsequent topcoats.

ALL-COAT™ 2860, a zirconium-based acidic liquid concentrate, transforms ferrous and aluminum surfaces into highly corrosion-resistant coatings. Outperforming traditional iron phosphate, it ensures excellent topcoat adhesion. Systems utilizing ALL-COAT™ 2860 have reached up to 4000 hours of ASTM B-117 salt spray resistance on steel and aluminum with a single powder coat.

ALL-COAT™ 6482, a cutting-edge zirconium-based acidic liquid concentrate engineered to apply a highly corrosion-resistant coating on both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates. The innovative formula of ALL-COAT™ 6482 ensures a coating that outperforms traditional iron phosphate in corrosion resistance and offering a robust solution for a wide range of industrial applications.

ALL-COAT™ 6485 is a reactive, non-chromium dry-in-place treatment intended to substitute iron and zinc phosphates. Its uniqueness lies in its versatility; it can serve as a dry-in-place treatment to conserve water by forgoing a rinse, or it can be rinsed for use in e-coat applications. Additionally, when applied as a dry-in-place coating, ALL-COAT™ 6485 helps to prevent flash rust prior to drying.

Final Seal Rinse

These products are designed to enhance the performance of our conversion coating products for multi-metal applications.

ALL-SEAL™ 2805, is an acidic, chrome-free liquid is expertly formulated for the final stage of multi-stage metal cleaning and phosphating operations. It’s designed to effectively seal both conventional and low-temperature iron and zinc phosphate coatings, ensuring superior protection and longevity for treated surfaces.

ALL-SEAL™ 1488 is a reactive, non-chrome sealer that performs similarly to traditional chrome sealers in iron and zinc phosphate processes.  ALL-SEAL™ 1488 has proven to enhance corrosion protection and improve paint adhesion, thereby extending salt spray resistance on all ferrous and most non-ferrous metals.

ALL-SEAL™ 2846 is suitable for use on a variety of metals including steel, galvanized, galvanneal, aluminum, zinc, titanium, and yellow metals. It has been shown to improve corrosion protection and paint adhesion, thereby extending the salt spray hours for both ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates, such as stainless-steel alloys. Additionally, ALL-SEAL™ 2846 is free of toxic metals and does not contribute to increased costs or demands on waste treatment systems.

ALL-SEAL™ 2850, an amine-based, water-soluble sealer that’s revolutionizing post-treatment processes. Free from chromium and phosphate, this non-foaming solution is highly effective even at low concentrations, providing robust protection against flash rusting. Ideal for a variety of industrial applications, ALL-SEAL™ 2850 is the go-to choice for those seeking efficient and environmentally conscious sealing options.

Plastic Cleaners & Treatments

Products formulated to prepare synthetic materials of all types for liquid painting and vacuum metalizing.

ALL-PLAST C45 is a mild acid detergent used in spray applications for the removal of mold release, shop dust and fingerprints. Safe for use on plastics and composites.

ALL-PLAST CNP45 is a mild acid, phosphate free detergent used in spray applications for the removal of mold release, shop dust and fingerprints. Safe for use on plastics and composites.

ALL-PREP P977 is a rinse aid used in spray applications for use in the final stage of a plastics washing process. Aids in drying and preventing water spotting. Safe for use on plastics and composites.

ALL-PREP PM609 is a conductive coating for the application of powder coating or electrostatic liquid paint. The product can be used in spray, immersion or manual spray applications. Safe for use on plastics and composites.

ALL-PREP PF602 is a conductive coating for the application of powder coating or electrostatic liquid paint. Formulated for very fast drying. The product can be used in spray, immersion or manual spray applications. Safe for use on plastics and composites.

Laser Oxide and Rust Removal Cleaners

Alkaline, acid and neutral cleaners that are used to remove inorganic soils such as weld, laser scale, and other oxides such as rust.

ACID DESCALE 2134 is an acidic liquid cleaner especially designed to remove laser scale, rust, oil, weld marks, flux residue, hard water scale, and smut from steel surfaces. Laser scale on cut edges ½” thick is typically removed in 60-90 seconds at 5% and 130°F. Effective in spray washers or immersion operations.

ACID DESCALE™ 2135 is a concentrated acidic liquid designed to remove weld scale and laser oxide from ferrous parts. It is composed of inorganic acids and surfactants, specifically formulated for descaling ferrous metals. When used with ALL-TONER™ FE3, it is also appropriate for aluminum, aluminized steel, and galvanized steel. Moreover, it effectively removes carbonate deposits from a range of metals and alloys, including aluminum and copper. ACID DESCALE™ 2135 is designed for use in immersion processes.

ALL-CLENE™ 9012 is a specially formulated neutral deruster that is non-hazardous and eco-friendly. It effectively removes deep rust from all types of mild steel and iron. ALL-CLENE™ 9012 can also brighten copper and other yellow metals. The green chemistry of ALL-CLENE™ 9012 eliminates the need for special protective gear or specific disposal methods.

ALL-CLENE 1133 is a highly active, chelated, non-foaming liquid alkaline rust and scale remover, designed to remove oils, greases, and other difficult soils such as scale buildup, rust, and burnt-on carbon. ALL-CLENE 1133 is capable of being used in a variety of industries ranging from metal processing to remanufacturing applications. The product is intended for use on ferrous or titanium substrate.

Department of Defense (DOD)-QPL Spec Products

Treatments approved for military and aerospace applications

SURTEC 650, is a tri-chrome passivation for aluminum, QPL-listed and meets MIL-DTL-81706-B and MIL-DTL 5541-F standards. It is recognized as a global benchmark technology in the aerospace and automotive industries, offering superior bare metal corrosion protection and excellent paint adhesion on painted substrates. This technology is based on a NAVAIR patent.

ADVANTECH™ P650, included in the Qualified Products List (QPL) and meeting the MIL TTC-490 specification, is an acidic liquid concentrate designed to convert the surface of ferrous and aluminum substrates into a coating resistant to corrosion. It is required to be used alongside ADVANTECH™ S1488 as a sealer.

ADVANTECH™ S1488, included in the QPL and adhering to the MIL TTC-490 specification, has proven to boost corrosion protection and enhance paint adhesion, thereby extending salt spray hours on all ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates, such as stainless steel alloys. It must be applied in combination with ADVANTECH™ P650 as a pretreatment.
